We have been having a fun and exciting summer. I have been taking a million pictures, so many in fact, that I don't have time to sort through them to pick the ones I want to post. I may be giving up on posts that should have been posted many moons ago. Life just keeps moving and I don't want to forget everything that is happening now.
Last Friday, a bunch of us went to the Hogle Zoo. It was so busy because it was pretty much the first sunny day of the summer, but I imagine the kids enjoyed it. I hope so, because I am not going to lie, it was pretty much stressful for me from start to finish. I am thinking of suggesting to all zoos to have the animals on a conveyor belt of sorts that moves them around so parents don't have to haul wagons and strollers around full of snacks and sippy cups and not kids, because who can really see the animals from their stroller? Still, I am glad we went.
After that I went to visit my niece, Amanda. She lives in Provo and this is actually the second time I have been able to see her. For some reason, though, I always forget to take pictures! Sorry Amanda! So, well, thanks to Amanda (who, don't you all worry, is only a few years younger than me and married) I am going to be a great-aunt around Christmas! Wowser, a title like that sure does make a girl like me feel old. Oh well, I am super excited for her and her husband Jason. I am pretty sure they are going to have some of the cutest kids in the world and I already have dibs on taking newborn pictures of her new baby (or babies!). Congrats Amanda!
My sister-in-law, Lauryn also had a baby on last friday. It was quite a day, I tell you! His name is Leif Silloway Heaton. He is super cute, and I hope to take pictures of him in the next few days. Lauryn is already skinnier than me and it is a week today since she had him! Amazing, I say! I won't pretend I am not at all baby hungry!
I went to Rexburg this past week and had a blast. I took a bunch of pictures of the Rowley's. They are such a fun family. I wish we could live close to them again. I will post pictures of them and our trip later (I hope). Thanks guys for letting us stay at your house and add all the stress. Seven kids in a townhouse is enough to drive anyone crazy! I am so impressed with people who have big families.
Gosh, I have so much more to update. We have been really good. Dallas actually got another letter from BYU saying they had a spot for him afterall. We prayed and talked a lot about it to make sure we could do the right thing. We have decided to still go to CCM and I am really excited about that. I would love to have lived in Provo, but it just makes more sense to keep going with music at this point, since the degree at BYU is for linguistics, which means Dallas would have to start out with a few undergrad courses before he could actually start his masters degree, and then he would most likely need a doctoral degree to be able to do anything with a linguistics degree. At CCM he will be working on an artist's diploma for Opera Coaching, which is kind of like what he is doing this summer for UFO. He really enjoys it. We are hoping it will still lead us to somewhere outside of the U.S. where Dallas can study languages and the history of languages to his heart's content. Sometimes I think Dallas' biggest problem is how freaking smart he is. He is just too good at too many things. We still don't have any idea of when we are moving to Ohio. We will keep you all updated.
The kids have been having a good summer. They are enjoying being with cousins. The weather has been beautiful, so we are able to be outside a lot. It has been a little rainy, but I like it. I do miss swimming, but I can't have it all, can I? While I am thinking about it, the kids have said some pretty funny things lately. The maintenance guy was fixing our sink the other day and the kids were looking at their scriptures. The next thing I know, the kids are standing but a few feet away from this stranger in our house chanting, "Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!" while waving their scriptures in the air in rhythm with their little chant. Poor guy.
That is all for now. I want to get a few pictures edited before I head off to bed. I am happy. Life is good.

I am so proud of Dallas today. He woke up super early and competed in his first ever race! He ran 3 miles; his time was 29 minutes, 14 seconds, I think, anyway. Paul also ran and beat him by a split second. I slept in and missed all of it. I am sorry I did, too. I would have loved to take some pictures. We are both hoping to run some more races in the future. I would love to do a marathon at some point, but I have a long way to go. I did run 5.25 miles today in just about an hour. Not very fast for all of you seasoned runners out there, but I can only improve, right? I have decided I love running and I am so glad Dallas is doing it too. It is nice to have someone to help me get motivated!

.... like a few months ago, but I haven't had the courage to do it. I am so behind, you see, and we have been so many places and done so many things. I feel just like the procrastinator I was in High School. Here is a mini post to explain what we are up to. I hope to have major posts for all the cool stuff we have done and are doing this summer.
-Dallas Graduated from ASU and is now a Master of Music! Congratulations, honey!
-We went to Disneyland!
-Dallas started working for UFO (sounds fishy to me, too...)
-Left AZ for a vacation in UT
-Dallas found a cute/dirty basement apartment and we survived 5 days without internet
-Dallas got a rejection letter from BYU
-Dallas got an ACCEPTANCE letter from CCM
-That means we are moving to Cincinnati in the fall!
-Dallas started running and goes regularly
-I went running tonight with Whitney, so I hopes that means I also started running.
-My camera got very sick and had to go to a California hospital, but I have it back now, so I am back in business. (Let me know when you want pictures taken.)
-I am freaking out because my baby is moving out of diapers and my first-born is starting school this fall. (Yeah, that is right, Gabe is potty-training.)
-I have been too busy to blog, so now I have major catch up. Gosh, I haven't even finished all the Mexico posts from way back in March. Bah, why does time move so fast?
